Update from BAND: Mon August 3, 2026 8:46am

Hey all!

We’re looking for old 12V car or truck batteries for our marching band props. Working or non-working batteries are both welcome!

If you have one (or more) you’d be willing to donate, please let us know or bring it to band camp this week and drop off with a staff member. Your donation will help us bring this year’s show to life!

Thank you!

Update from BAND: Sun August 2, 2026 6:32pm

Hey Marching Hawks!

What a fantastic first week of band camp! Despite the unusual schedule and all of the construction challenges, our students were incredibly resilient and accomplished a ton. By the end of the week, we had the entire opener on the field with both music and visuals, a huge accomplishment! I can't wait to get Movement 2 on the field this week and continue building the show.

This week's schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 4:00–7:30 PM
Friday: 4:00–6:00 PM, followed by our Friends & Family Show & Tell at 6:00 PM.

If you'll be joining us for the Show & Tell dinner, you can reserve your meal here:
https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/show-n-tell-hot-dog-dinner
To help us hit the ground running tomorrow, please review the Movement 2 drill video:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/13jUNgDKoRN3eeswuF7DlmN5Pt6G1WAGZ/view
Also, be sure to spend some time studying your drill in UDB so we can get everything on the field as quickly as possible!

Thank you again for your flexibility with last week's adjusted schedule. It certainly wasn't a typical start to band camp, but we made the best of it, and I'm incredibly proud of what our students accomplished. I'm excited to keep the momentum going this week and then get everyone back into the school building the following week.

See you tomorrow!

URGENT:

There’s a pipe that broke at Horizon and the building and all facilities will be CLOSED tomorrow. Unfortunately, this means we will not have rehearsal tomorrow and will resume activities on Thursday from 8 am-5 pm.

Due to the construction, they also moved ‘back to school night’ to Monday, August 10th. So we will add a rehearsal on Thursday, August 6th from 4-7:30 pm to help make up the 12 hours of rehearsal missed this week due to construction. The calendar has been updated to reflect this change.

Thank you for the flexibility and understanding as we navigate the construction at Horizon. Make sure to spread the word in case anyone misses this message, however students were notified at the end of rehearsal today.

Update from BAND: Sun July 26, 2026 2:22pm

Horizon Band Families,

We are excited to begin band camp this week! A few important reminders and updates before we get started. Please make sure to read all the way through!

Band Camp Schedule This Week
-Tomorrow (Monday): 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Due to the school being closed, we will have a half day tomorrow. Students will need to use the field house restrooms during the morning.
-Tuesday–Friday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
We should have access to the building again, and these will be our full band camp days.

With the hot weather coming this week, please help your student prepare:
-Start hydrating tonight and continue drinking plenty of water throughout the week.
-Bring a full water jug/bottle every day.
-Apply sunscreen before arriving and bring it for reapplication.
-Hats are highly encouraged.
-Students are welcome to bring personal shade (such as canopies) if they would like a place to cool off during breaks. Make sure to have weights so they don't blow away!

We will be outside a lot this week, so being prepared for the heat will make a big difference!

NEW Drill Apps for 2026

This season we are switching to the new UDBpro powered by ARC system for drill. Ultimate Drill Book, Beam, and Geo are all new apps, and the logins/apps used last year will not work. Students will need to redownload the apps and go through a central ARC account setup.

Please follow the setup instructions here:
https://help.udbapp.us/kb/guide/en/udbapp-setup-for-members-0DyYFXU0Yg/Steps/4967671

Our group information is below:

UDBpro (Ultimate Drill Book)
Subject Code: 6GAA6
Member Group: K2VC9

Beam
Subject Code: 6GAA6
Group Code: QRYXK

Geo
Subject Code: 6GAA6
Group Code: VLQVG

The Beam library from last year has been migrated and will still be accessible through the new app. Geo will help us with attendance and other important information throughout the season.

Please try to download the apps and complete the setup before tomorrow morning so we can spend less time troubleshooting and more time learning drill. At the latest, everything needs to be set up by Tuesday.

We are looking forward to an amazing week of camp and a great start to our season!

Go Hawks! (I also attached a video of what we'll be learning this week, movement 2 coming soon!)

Hello all!

I wanted to send out a quick update in regards to band camp:

We will not have access to the building on Monday, July 27th so we will be moving to a half day from 8am-12pm. We will be outside on the parking lot for that duration and can use the restrooms at the field house for the day.

July 28th we will resume full 8am-5pm days for the rest of the week, and will have access to the auditorium and lobby once again.

Thanks for your flexibility, and I’m so excited for camp! Drill is being written as we speak and I can’t wait to get learning the show!

Also, congratulation to our soloists for movement 1 and 2!

Movement 1: Joseph Leishman, Josh Bezjak
Movement 2: Grady Goodman, Kai Wolcott

Thank you to all who auditioned!

Update from BAND: Tue June 30, 2026 5:18pm

The Palisade Peaches fundraiser kicks off today! Here is the important information to get started!

Link: https://mesaparkfruit.com/horizon

Peaches are $45 per box, and for each box sold the band makes $15 ($10.50 from each box goes into the student’s band account, and the BPA keeps the other $4.50). Orders are open NOW and close August 12. Peaches will be delivered to Horizon on August 15, where each student will be expected to pick up all of their orders and deliver from there (individual customers are not expected to pick up from HHS on 8/15). Time for pickup has not been determined and will be communicated in a few weeks.

The students were given flyers today with a QR code that takes you to the link above. This is Horizon’s direct order link, where all pre-orders for peaches are done. Customers will be prompted to enter the name of the STUDENT whom they are supporting (this is how we will know whose accounts to credit for what sales).

If you have questions, please reach out to me here, or email me at hhsbpafundraising@gmail.com.

Hey Hawks! I can't wait to see you all tomorrow for the start of our mini camp!

Remember, we'll be going from 9:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday-Wednesday. Because of the construction at HHS, we'll be outside most of the day. We only have access to the auditorium and auditorium lobby. Please bring lots of water, sunscreen, hats, and appropriate athletic attire and shoes.

Lunch once again is on your own. You can take a break from the sun eating in the auditorium lobby, but you must clean up after yourselves.

We have a lot of work and growing to do these three days, and I'm so excited to dive into new topics and music!

Don't forget that final commitment is due by Wednesday where we will finalize our drill numbers and get your spots for the show that we'll start learning starting on July 27th!

See you tomorrow, and start hydrating TODAY to be ready for the week!

Hey everyone! Heads up on an upcoming fundraiser that you can start getting friends and family excited for!

Starting next week, students will be selling boxes of Palisade peaches—directly from an orchard in Palisade, CO! There will be a link to order from, and customers will enter the name of the musician they are supporting. Boxes are $45/box (25-28 peaches per box, approx. 10 lbs) and the students will earn $10.50 per box for their band account!

The fundraiser will be open during the month of July and will be delivered mid-August. Start spreading the word to everyone you know who loves peaches, and be on the lookout for more information and the ordering link soon!

Hey Hawks!

Final reminder that tomorrow is our car wash fundraiser! If you're planning on coming, please fill out the student volunteer form for the car wash: (If you forget, you can still show up and get credit for helping at the wash!) https://forms.gle/Wco6y4TD937mfA2k8

Don't forget sunscreen, water, a snack if you'll need one, dress appropriately, and be ready to work to get those cars squeaky clean!

Great job to those of you who have fundraised (some close to ALL of their band fees!!) with the calendar campaign. If you collected cash/checks/etc. you can turn that in tomorrow as well. Remember, you can still get started and have this campaign run for the rest of the summer, there just won't be a car wash associated with the donations.

See you tomorrow!
