HHSBPA Update

Weekly Update Oct. 18th

Good afternoon band families, the following email contains important information about this week and the State competition, please read the entire email.

The marching band is currently in 8th place in the state, this means they will be marching in the quarterfinal competition on Friday, October 23rd at 12:15pm. 

On Saturday, October 24th, the semifinals and finals competition will take place. The top 12 5A bands will advance to semifinals, and the top 8 5A bands will advance to finals. Please plan for a long day for Saturday, the band will play in the morning for semifinals and if they make it to finals, they will stay for the awards ceremony and retreat at 9:30pm. I have attached the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals schedules to this email.

If you are planning on attending the competition, you MUST gain base access by following the link listed. If you are 18 years or older, you must have a valid driver’s license or state issued ID.

Also, please be aware that all ticket purchases are cashless AND they follow a clear bag policy. I have attached all the information you need to this email, please read through the “Things You Need to Know” information sheet carefully so you are fully prepared for your visit. I have also attached a map and ticket information.

Food

The band parents will be providing some meals for the students. Below are the meals that will be provided:

Friday 

Lunch (please make sure that your student eats breakfast before coming to school for call time, they may also bring snacks and water on the bus). Lunch will be a “make your own sandwich” sack lunch to eat on the ride home.

Saturday 

Breakfast – We are going to do a quick breakfast at the buses once we arrive at the Air Force Academy. Please have your student fill out this Google Form so we know how many breakfast burritos we need and how many bagels we need. Please have this filled out by Tuesday at 5pm

Lunch – Pulled Pork/chicken sandwiches

Dinner – We will provide dinner if the students qualify for finals, if they do not, they will head home after the semi finals awards ceremony. Dinner is TBD.

**We will send out a meal train later on today or tomorrow**

Mr. Dailey will send out a schedule for next weekend on the BandApp. Please keep an eye on the weather for next weekend, currently it is cool with a chance of rain, make sure your student is prepared for the day.

This week:

The students have rehearsal this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-7pm. Thursday they will have their special moments. This is a time where sections will have dinner together before the band gathers in the band room to reflect on the season, they will be done by 8pm (This is for students only).

**If you haven’t picked up your yard sign, Ashly will be at rehearsal on Monday**

Once they leave the band room, the band parents will go in and decorate the room to show our support for the students. It is a fun way for them to start their morning on Friday. We will also like to meet Saturday morning – it will be early –  to form a human tunnel for the band to go through on their way to the buses. We would like as many parents as possible to show up Saturday morning to show the band support. I will let you know what time when I know the student’s call time.

Marching Hawks – IMPORTANT Rehearsal TODAY, 8 AM–12 PM!

Good morning, Marching Hawks!

See you soon for rehearsal TODAY from 8 AM–12 PM as we head into STATE WEEK!

We are currently seeded 8th in the state! That's something to be incredibly proud of and a reflection of all the hard work you've put in this season. However, the three bands directly behind us are all within ONE POINT of our score. Nothing is guaranteed, and we're going to have to work hard to defend our spot and hopefully move even higher!

I'm incredibly proud of how far this band has come. We've made HUGE strides over the last few weeks, and there is still so much potential in this show. We're in a great position heading into State, but now is the time to LOCK IN!

We need EVERYONE at rehearsal today, focused, prepared, and ready to work. Every rep matters, every individual matters, and we need to make the most of every minute we have together. Come ready to work hard, make corrections, and bring some positive energy!

We've worked too hard to take our foot off the gas now. Let's make this our best week of rehearsals yet and give ourselves every opportunity to be successful at State!

Hey all!

Fantastic work yesterday, and I hope you all are enjoying your fall break to the fullest now! Rest while you can, and be ready for our rehearsal on Saturday from 8 am-12 pm. This is be a really important rehearsal to kickstart the work for state week and use the great feedback we got from these past two shows to the fullest. Don't forget to keep an eye on the calendar for the rehearsal schedule for State Week.

BAND.us Update

Update from BAND: Sun October 11, 2026 3:35pm

Hey all, take a look at the video from yesterday! Shake off the score, I think this is a SOLID run! We added so much, but you can tell in areas where confidence is lacking, visually and musically. Let’s come to rehearsal tomorrow (12-3) with focus and be ready to really implement our fundamentals into the show more often. Come early to set up the field so we can get started right at 12 pm.

We get a new set of judges and a fresh start tomorrow, let’s prove where we need to be moving into state week. Study the video watching the band and yourself on separate watches, and come to rehearsal with goals for yourself to help us all improve. I believe in you all and am so excited to get another performance under the lights at 8 pm tomorrow!

Good evening band families!

Here is what’s going on this week:

Monday:

Rehearsal from 3:30-5pm

**If you have not picked up buttons, yard signs or swag bags Ashly will be at the school at 5pm with the items, if they are not picked up, Mr. Dailey will be handing them out to your student**

Restaurant Night: 

Monday from 5-9pm at Chipotle at 14452 Orchard Pkwy

Tuesday:

Orchestra & Concert Band fall concert 6:30-8pm

Thursday:

Choir Fall concert 6:30-8pm

Saturday:

Monarch Festival

The students will rehearse from 9-12. They will be fed lunch and leave around 1pm. The band plays at 4:30pm. Mr. Dailey will send out more details later this week.

I will send out a Meal Train Tuesday.

Monday 10/12

Regional Marching competition

The students will have rehearsal from 12-3pm, will be fed and then will leave the school around 4:15pm. Horizon is scheduled to play at 8pm. The competition takes place at Centaurus Stadium (same as Monarch festival: 10300 South Boulder Rd. Lafayette, CO).

***This is the week of fall break, however, this is an extremely important performance, this will determine if the band goes on to the State competition, please make sure that your student is present**
