We will know performance times for Saturday’s semi finals after the awards ceremony on Friday. As it stands currently, Horizon is in 7th place, they take the top 8 bands (based on the semi finals scores) in the Finals. The finals performances begin at 5:15pm with 5A bands, then they will do the 4A bands, putting awards at 9:30pm. Please plan on your student being gone from 5am-11:30ish pm that night. It is a long day. It will be cold in the morning and in the evening with the highs currently forecasted for the low 70’s.

We would like to provide the students a grab n go breakfast Saturday morning. We are looking for donations of on the go breakfast items like apple/fruit pouches, pastries, cereal bars, etc…If you are able to donate breakfast items, please sign up here: State Breakfast

We will feed the students lunch and dinner. We are currently looking into options for those meals now. There are concessions available, plus state merchandise to purchase in the stadium if you would like to send your student with money.

In your email, we have attached several documents about the state competition so you can be prepared if you attend the competition. Please remember that it is at the Air Force Academy, so you will have to go through a safety checkpoint in order to go onto the base. They CAN search your vehicle and you need to have your driver’s license ready. There is often a line for this process, please plan accordingly so you do not miss the performance.

BAND.us Update

Update from BAND: Fri October 18, 2024 2:46pm

Good rehearsal today, Hawks! Don’t forget all of those changes before tonight!

We will be doing TWO runs tonight. One at half time, and the other at the end of the game for the football team! This is a long standing tradition that we’re getting back to with the team so they can show support you all back by watching you perform. We will load up and depart after the second show. Parents, please feel free to stay and watch the second performance as well!

Don’t forget to layer up, it’ll be much colder than the last games we’ve had, however this is good practice for the temperatures we’ll be facing next week for state earlier in the day.

Thanks all and see you at 5 pm for call time!
