Update from BAND: Mon June 16, 2025 5:33pm

Hey Hawks!

Last mini camp this week! Tomorrow and Wednesday 9a-4p at HHS! I believe that with the construction, we should now be entering in through the back auditorium entrance.

Students- please hydrate now and tonight to be ready for tomorrow. Also, make sure we are wearing appropriate athletic clothing, with how hot it’s been jeans are not a good option, or flexible enough for marching.

Contracts and deposits are due this week, check out the previous posts or go to horizon hawks.band to pay fees. These will guarantee your spot in the marching show!

The CustomInk fundraiser ends Wendesday! We sold enough shirts to run that fundraiser, but not the other items yet. Last chance to grab those items!

See you all tomorrow!

Update from BAND: Fri June 6, 2025 10:57am

Hey all! A few important things as we are approaching the weekend:

Here are the updated parts, AND the transposed solos for the show:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zzJNJkGYILK5Did9Z4if89uDgwkJd86j?usp=sharing
Bb instruments can just read the trumpet part for the first movement solo, and I transposed only to instruments that will be able to also audition for each marked solo. Pre-show alto solo, trumpet solo, and baritone/low brass solos for movement 1 and a few alternate parts in the woodwind quartet in movement 2. The alto flute solo now has a normal flute part for flutes auditioning for that as well, we will transfer it back to alto flute later in the season.

Final reminder, sign up for the car wash fundraiser if you haven't yet and are available, and thanks for those of you who have!!

For the Podcast Fans:
If you've made it this far—thank you! I wanted to share a podcast you might enjoy. It’s called Band Dads by Scott Lang (some of our leadership students have worked with him before). The show is all about band life from a parent’s perspective, covering a wide range of interesting and relevant topics.

Sorry for the late post! Looks like the construction team didn’t follow the map. Please drop off/park on the front of the school instead tomorrow morning. Either walk to the theater entrance or come through the front doors to go to the band room to start. Thanks for your flexibility!
