Hey Hawks!
I hope you’re all taking the time to rest today so you’re ready for a fantastic competition tomorrow! Here are a few reminders to keep in mind:
Get plenty of rest tonight! We’re in the final stretch of the season, so use this time to heal and recharge for your success.
Arrive early to rehearsal. Please be there by 7:45 AM. If you can come earlier to help with moving the front ensemble and props, that would be fantastic! We want to START rehearsal at 8:00 AM with everyone ready for stretching.
Reflect on your show, goals, and your "why" today. Consider what you want to improve for this competition. Think about how you can contribute more to the music, visuals, and culture of the Horizon Band. What has been a big positive for you this season?
Focus on the changes in your show. Make sure you’re prepared to execute those new spots with confidence!
Remember, your staff is proud of you! We’re amazed by the hard work you’ve put into the season so far. Let’s keep pushing to improve and be our best while maintaining that growth mindset!
Let’s keep the momentum going!
Go Hawks!

I realize there is a lot of germs and sickness going around, please help by being proactive with your health! We need everyone possible the next two days for successful performances! This week has been a struggle with absences, please hydrate, get lots of rest, load up on Victim C, eat well, and COMMUNICATE with me and your section that you won't be at a rehearsal or an event so we can plan around that.
Everyone on our team is vital to our success and we simply cannot have 20 people missing and still perform this weekend. Take care, Hawks!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions and I'll see you all tomorrow for rehearsal and the game! #marching_hawks
– Mr. Dailey
DON’T FORGET if you’re helping out with concert band at our concert next week that we have our after school rehearsal from 3:30-4:30 in the band room! Please be there if you are playing with us so we can plug you in to these parts! Thanks so much ya’ll!
– Mr. Duran
Hey band!
Here’s tonight’s run. LOADS better but please watch the videos and keep making those adjustments! Some missed the changed visuals and musical dynamics. Keep it up! #marchinghawks

We have an exciting journey ahead of us as we work on refining our time, completing the 4th movement, and making a few adjustments throughout the show. Let’s enhance our musical execution, improve our listening skills, lock in our tempos, and develop our anticipation.
The judges were really impressed with our show concept, the slot machine moments, and the overall fun energy! I encourage you to watch the performance a few times—first focus on your individual role, and then consider how we can improve as a group. Think about how your individual performance can help us achieve our goals this week.
I’m so proud of everyone for getting the whole show out on the field and pushing through to perform! Now that we’ve experienced competition, let’s channel that energy into daily practice and strive for the next level that I know we can reach together!
Reminders:
Rehearsal tomorrow 5:30-9:00 pm (parents, come watch our final run through at 8:50 pm!)
Guard and Percussion sectionals 9/26
Football game 9/27 (Call time 5 pm)

STUDENTS ONLY
Just as reminder, tomorrow is the day before a competition. It's tradition to dress up a little before comps. If you can, we'd love to see everyone in their outfits! Please remember that we DO have to March, so make sure that you can do all the visuals and marching in your clothes (no heels, no sandals) thanks!
