Weekly Update June 9th

Good evening band families!

This week the students have rehearsal from 9-1pm on Tuesday. If your student is in guard or percussion, please see the calendar for a full list of rehearsal times.

You hopefully received two sign up genius invites, one for fruit and popsicle breaks for mini camp next week, and another for the car wash. If you did NOT receive them, please send us an email and we will check to ensure you are on the distribution list. If you are able to help out with providing the student’s their fruit break or popsicle break next week, please sign up! The students look forward to these breaks and we help fuel their rehearsal. Also, we need parent help for the upcoming car wash, if you have supplies or are able to help work the car wash, please sign up. We are also going to start building the props for the show! Here is a note from our Pit Crew/Prop Master Paul:

If you are interested in helping out with Props, I will be at the fieldhouse Tuesday June 11th from 11am-1pm, and then again during mini-camp June 18-19 from 1pm-4pm.  I am looking for folks to help organize the Fieldhouse and brainstorm the GIANT casino props Mr Dailey is looking for!  Any and all are welcome!

Additionally, looking ahead to the Fall event schedule, if you have a CDL and would have some flexibility to help drive the semi+trailer, please let Jess know and she will connect you to Paul for further info.

Our pit crew and prop builders have a lot of fun building the props that add visual interest to the marching show. If you are able to help out, head on over to the field house at the school.

Hawks!

The Apparel Fundraiser is extended one week! We had some technical issues so we thought it would be best to give it a little more time as the site is now fixed. It will be over June 12th.

Car Wash Fundraiser Details!

On June 29th from 10 am-2 pm we will be doing our annual car wash fundraiser! We initially planned to get tickets passed out at rehearsal but ran out of time, we I will be giving each student 10 tickets and a suggested script on the 11th. I’m also attaching the PDF of the tickets if you want to get a jump on it and print them out yourselves.

These are “donation tickets” which will go directly to your students account. For making a donation, they will get a complimentary car was on the 29th at North Metro Church! Just tell them to bring their ticket and hand it to a parent so we know they already donated.

Beyond that, thanks for all of you who came and helped clean out the band room last Saturday, it was a huge help!

We had a GREAT start to our Summer Rehearsals and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come this season. We will see everyone on June 11th at 9 am!

Marching Hawks!

I'm so excited for our first marching rehearsal tomorrow from 9 am-1 pm! Please meet in the back North parking lot for the beginning of rehearsal.

Try to be there around 8:45 am so we can get everything set up and be able to start by 9 am sharp.

Bring your instruments, sunscreen, water, a hat, athletic clothing/shoes, and be ready to learn!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to put out a few reminders:

The Apparel fundraiser only runs through June 5th! If you want anything for the summer and competitive season to represent the band, now is the time to get it! Here is the link again for our shop: https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/GgwbAcTWEe

Saturday is our band cleaning day! 9 am-1 pm we will be reorganizing large equipment, music, instrument storage, outside storage, and will be sorting through a lot of things that need to go. The district has a truck coming out on Monday to pick up whatever needs to go, so this is our only chance to easily reorganize our space for the season! Please meet in the band room at 9 am where we will break into teams and start getting tasks accomplished. The back auditorium doors will be unlocked for entrance.

Remember our new website is Horizonhawks.band and have a few password walls. Please let me know if you have any troubles accessing these locations.

Lastly, our next rehearsal is Tuesday, June 4th at 9 am! Meet in the back parking lot for some visual time, and then we will go inside from 11 am-1 pm. Please let section leaders or myself know if you can’t make the rehearsal, and if not try to make it to June 11th! Contracts need to be signed and turned in to secure your spot in the show, so please make sure to turn those in by the end of mini camp!

Weekly Update

Cleaning Day 2024 on June 1

We will be making some changes to our organizational structure to the band room, field house, and storage rooms at HHS on JUNE 1st from 9am-1pm!

We could use help organizing, moving equipment, and getting rid of old props and unused odds and ends. This will be a great time to meet some of the other parents, start to get involved, and get things set up to build props and what we need for this marching season.

This will make a huge difference in getting this year started off in the right direction and making sure the band room and our stage space is as functional and effective as possible.

Just show up and jump in. Family, friends, students… all are welcome. Thanks in advance!

HHSBPA Update

Parent Meeting May 20th @ 6:30

Good evening band families!

Check the calendar!

We are getting ready to kick off the marching season! Students will meet today at 5pm to read through next season’s show. Following that at 6:30pm, we will have our band parent meeting. We will be talking about next season including fees and upcoming summer fundraisers.

Parents of seniors who just graduated, we will be deleting your email addresses June 1, if you have another student in band, please let us know before then so we can retain your email for future communications!
