Hello Band Families,
I hope you all had a great snow day on Friday and enjoyed a nice long weekend! We have a busy week ahead, so I wanted to share a few important reminders:

Join us in the HHS Student Center to celebrate the Horizon Marching Hawks’ record-breaking season! The evening will include:

Winter Percussion Auditions:
– Dates: November 12th, 14th, 16th

12:00–3:30 pm (on 11/16)
Winter Guard Parent Meeting 11/13 @6:00 pm:
There will be a meeting in the band room to discuss the finer details of the Winter Guard season, look at contracts, fees, and a more finalized calendar.
Wind Ensemble After School Rehearsals:
To continue preparing for the state conference, we’ll need additional rehearsal time outside of class to refine our 40-minute program. To avoid conflicts with winter activities, we’ll be holding these rehearsals on Wednesdays from 3:30–5:00 pm. The scheduled dates are:
-December 4th
-December 11th
-January 8th
-January 15th
-January 22nd
Additionally, we are planning a preview concert during the week of CMEA to give the Wind Ensemble students an opportunity to perform a full run-through on stage in front of an audience. More details will be shared soon.
Horizon Band Concert – December 17th @ 6:30 pm
Our annual mass holiday band concert will be held on December 17th at 6:30 pm. The students' call time will be 6:00 pm. This concert will feature all jazz and concert bands and promises to be a night to remember!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to an exciting week!

Good evening band families!
We hope everyone has recovered from the busy and very amazing marching season and are excited about concert season!
Fees
As we move away from marching season, I would like to remind everyone to please pay their band fees. We currently have 48 students who are not fully paid. Please pay any outstanding balance as the band fees are vital to keeping the band programs running and being able to provide excellent instruction and experiences for our students. Please keep in mind, if your student is planning on participating in winter color guard or winter percussion, they will NOT be able to participate until their band fee is paid. On top of that, fees will be approximately $650 for both winter percussion and guard this year, plus the cost of the uniform. We are looking at needing those fees paid in full (tentatively) by March 1st. This cost is based on having a certain number of students join and may change if that number is not met.
Marching Band Banquet
The marching band banquet is going to be this Thursday at 6pm. We will be having a dessert bar. Each section will be assigned a dessert to bring and share. This year, we will be hosting a silent auction at the banquet. Here is a quick note about what to expect:
Want to own a piece of our Jackpot show? At this weeks’ Celebration, we are going to be selling our Show Props! Everything will be up for sale – Poker Chips, Dice, Vinyl Banners, Decals & Stickers – even the Slot Machine! Format will be a silent auction with a minimum bid (so that we can recoup some of the cost of materials) – think about what you might want to take home to remember our fantastic season!
Private Lessons
If your student is interested in taking private lessons, we now have a list of private lesson instructors. Private lessons could be a great gift to your student this holiday season!
Jazz Festival
Just a quick reminder that Horizon’s Jazz Festival is this Wednesday and Thursday. Horizon’s three jazz bands will play on Wednesday. Parents are welcome to attend this free event.

Hey all! We have kicked off our annual Butter Braids fundraiser, and we have only a short amount of time to sell in order to have delivery before Thanksgiving break. Sales have already started, and you can use the paper order forms (Mr. Dailey is handing them out!) OR you can set up an online store using the link below.
If you use the paper forms, please collect payment for sales now, and turn in with the completed form (cash or checks made out to HHSBPA).
Order forms are DUE Wednesday, November 13–turn in to the box in the band room. Online orders end 11/13, as well. NOTE: online orders are still distributed to the student, they are NOT shipped to the buyer.
Butter Braids will be delivered to the school on Thursday, 11/21, and students will be responsible for picking up during 8th hour/after school.
With this fundraiser, approximately $4.50 from each Butter Braid sold will be credited to the individual student’s band account!
Thank you!!
